Residents in Alton, Illinois, have the opportunity to obtain free solar eclipse glasses ahead of the upcoming celestial event on April 8, 2024. The initiative aims to provide individuals with the necessary eyewear to safely observe the solar eclipse.

"My district office has free solar eclipse glasses for anyone needing a few shades to enjoy watching the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024," stated the representative offering the glasses.

The upcoming solar eclipse holds particular significance as it marks the final one visible from the United States until the year 2045. This event presents a unique chance for residents to witness a rare celestial occurrence.

According to the announcement, the solar eclipse glasses can be obtained at the district office during specific hours. "Glasses are available from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday at my district office located at 192 Alton Square Mall Dr. Suite C in Alton," the statement added.

The generous donation of solar eclipse glasses was made possible by the Illinois Optometric Association. "Thank you Illinois Optometric Association for donating the solar eclipse glasses!" expressed the representative, acknowledging the contribution.
